The Fitz Roy Trek, also known as the Dos Lagunas Trek or the Laguna de los Tres Trek, begins early in the morning, departing from El Calafate. You will head toward El Chaltén, traveling along part of National Route 40, appreciating the area's beautiful landscape.

Once in El Chaltén, there will be a short stop for those who wish to use the restroom before starting the trek. Here, a second trekking guide will accompany you throughout the hike.

You will begin the first section of the trail, which will cover 6.3 km. The path climbs to the Piedras Blancas Viewpoint, offering beautiful views. Then, you will continue along the path that slowly descends to the meeting point near Poincenot Base Camp.

At this point, you'll have time to rest and decide how to continue the activity, as there are two options:

Full Trek to Laguna de los Tres

This is a more demanding activity, as it involves continuing the uphill trek for 3 km with a 430-meter elevation gain until reaching Los Tres Lagoon, at the base of Mount Fitz Roy, one of the most iconic views of the mountain and a truly breathtaking setting, where you can rest and take photos. If weather conditions allow, you will have lunch here before starting the return.

Trek to Laguna Capri

This activity requires less physical effort, although you should still be prepared. Here, you'll notice the landscape shift from Patagonian forest to mountain terrain, arriving at Capri Lagoon, from where you'll enjoy wonderful views of the surroundings and Mount Fitz Roy in the distance. You'll have time for lunch before beginning the return.

Both groups will gather in the Poincenot Camp area, where you will begin your return journey. Finally, you will board the vehicle back to the city of El Calafate, concluding the activity.
