The Fitz Roy Trek, also known as the Dos Lagunas Trek or the Laguna de los Tres Trek, begins early in the morning, departing from El Calafate. You will head toward El Chaltén, traveling along part of National Route 40, appreciating the area's beautiful landscape.
Once in El Chaltén, there will be a short stop for those who wish to use the restroom before starting the trek. Here, a second trekking guide will accompany you throughout the hike.
You will begin the first section of the route, covering 6.3 km while the path gradually gains elevation until reaching the Piedras Blancas viewpoint, where you can enjoy beautiful panoramic views. You will then continue along the trail, which gently descends to the meeting point near the Poincenot Base Camp. From there, the trek continues with a 3 km ascent and a 430-meter elevation gain up to Laguna de los Tres, at the base of Mount Fitz Roy—one of the most iconic viewpoints of the mountain and a truly breathtaking setting, where you can rest and take photos. If weather conditions allow, you will be able to have lunch here before beginning the return hike to the transport that will take you back to the city of El Calafate, marking the end of the activity.
