  • Adults over 65, unless they present a medical certificate stating they are in optimal condition to do activities above 5,000 m (16,404 ft).
  • People who weigh more than 100 kg (220 lb) (due to the vehicle’s limited space).
  • Pregnant women.
  • People with high blood pressure, heart failure, asthma, or similar conditions.

Start: Day 1 at 6:00 am at your hotel in San Pedro de Atacama.

End: Day 4 at 1:00 pm in downtown San Pedro de Atacama or at the bus terminal (this end time may change due to weather conditions or force majeure; we recommend planning your departure from San Pedro de Atacama for the day after the tour end date).

Day 1: San Pedro de Atacama – Bolivian Altiplano – Laguna Colorada – Villa Mar

We’ll begin with pick-up at your accommodation in San Pedro de Atacama and drive by minibus to the Bolivian border. You’ll complete migration procedures at both border offices and, once in Bolivia, switch to a shared 4x4 vehicle (maximum 6 people per jeep) to start the route. On this first day, you’ll explore the most stunning landscapes of the Bolivian Altiplano:

• Laguna Blanca and Laguna Verde, at the foot of the majestic Licancabur Volcano.
• The surreal Salvador Dalí Desert.
• Polques Hot Springs, where you’ll have time for a relaxing bath.
• The impressive Sol de Mañana Geysers, with steam jets reaching temperatures up to 90°C (194°F).
• You’ll end the day at Laguna Colorada, home to thousands of Andean flamingos.

Day 2: Villa Mar – Italia Perdida – Canyons – Colcha K

After breakfast, you’ll start a new day of exploration with unique Altiplano scenery:

• Stop at Tomás Lakha, an archaeological site with ancient pre-Inca rock paintings.
• Visit Italia Perdida, an enigmatic rock formation reminiscent of an abandoned city.
• You’ll stroll around Laguna Vinto, excellent for observing high-Andean wildlife.
• You’ll see the Anaconda Canyon and the Sora Canyon, two imposing natural formations.
• Finally, cross the Chiguana Salt Flat en route to the town of Colcha K, where we’ll spend the night.

Day 3: Sunrise at the Salar de Uyuni – Incahuasi Island – Train Cemetery – Uyuni – Villa Mar

This day begins very early to witness one of the most memorable moments of the trip:

• Sunrise at the Uyuni Salt Flat, the largest salt desert in the world.
• Visit the magical Incahuasi Island, filled with giant cacti and panoramic views of the salt flat.
• You’ll explore Flags Plaza, the Dakar Monument, the Salt Museum, and the artisan village of Colchani.
• Before arriving in Uyuni, you’ll make a stop at the Train Cemetery, a very popular photo spot.
  
  

In Uyuni we will say goodbye to our driver and you’ll have free time for lunch and to explore the city. Then we’ll meet the driver for the return trip, stopping in Villa Mar for dinner and rest.

Day 4: Villa Mar – Border – Return to San Pedro de Atacama

Very early in the morning, we’ll head to the Bolivia–Chile border. After migration procedures, you’ll switch back to a minibus to return to San Pedro de Atacama, concluding this unforgettable journey through one of South America’s most fascinating landscapes.

*From January to April, during the rainy season known as the Altiplano winter, the itinerary may undergo specific changes, such as spending the second night in Uyuni and skipping the visit to Incahuasi Island if it is underwater. At any time of year, the route, places visited, activity order, and schedules may vary due to weather conditions, road status, demonstrations, or lodging availability.
