We’ll depart from San Pedro de Atacama and head into the Atacama Desert. At the trailhead, you’ll begin a 2–3 hour night hike through the Salt Mountain Range (Cordillera de la Sal). The landscape changes with the moon phase: under a full moon the relief glows; under a dark sky, shadows and desert silence take center stage.
The trail has ups and downs over dry, compact terrain; moderate difficulty for travelers with basic fitness. We’ll pause to stargaze with the naked eye in one of the world’s best sky-watching spots, thanks to low humidity and minimal light pollution. Back at the vehicle, you’ll enjoy a snack before returning to San Pedro de Atacama, where the tour ends.

- Visit to the Moon Valley (Valle de la Luna) and Death Valley (Valle de la Muerte) not included.
- Pick-up and drop-off ervice does not operate from/to lodgings outside the urban area, nearby ayllus (Quitor, Yaye, Checar, Sequitor, Solor, Coyo), or Toconao.
