What to bring:
We’ll start in San Pedro de Atacama for a unique experience: an Astro Camp night in a desert spot chosen for its clear skies and low light pollution. At dusk, we’ll set up camp and your guide will introduce the nocturnal wildlife and the constellations visible during your travel season.
While you admire the star-filled sky, your guide will prepare dinner, a perfect moment to chat about life on the Altiplano. Then you’ll sleep in your tent, in silence and full contact with nature.
At sunrise, enjoy breakfast with views of the first light over the Atacama Desert. Finally, we’ll break camp and return to San Pedro de Atacama to end the tour.
Important notes
Both the Astrophotography Tour and the Astronomy Tour include telescope-based stargazing, although the latter offers slightly more technical information for astronomy enthusiasts. The Astrophotography Tour, on the other hand, provides simpler explanations focused on Andean constellations. The Astronomical Camp, meanwhile, is a more relaxed experience without telescope observation, where you’ll learn about the constellations and celestial bodies visible to the naked eye, as well as the desert’s nocturnal wildlife, with more time, since you’ll spend the night camping in a tent.
There isn’t a professional photography service during the tour, but we’ll share tips so you can take photos with your phone and bring home a keepsake of the desert night sky in the Atacama Desert.
