We’ll depart from San Pedro de Atacama to a dark-sky area ideal for astronomy.


We’ll start with a friendly briefing covering basics, cardinal directions, and tips to spot constellations. Then you’ll stargaze with the naked eye and through a telescope, identifying planets, stars, and open/globular clusters.


There will be time for night-sky photos (optional) and questions before returning to  de Atacama, where the tour ends.

  • Visibility depends on cloud cover and the moon phase (dark skies favor faint objects; bright moon enhances the landscape).
  • Pick-up not available from or to lodging outside the urban area, nearby ayllus (Quitor, Yaye, Checar, Sequitor, Solor, Coyo), or Toconao.

  • The place where the activity is made is in a close plot, fifteen minutes from the city of San Pedro de Atacama. It is important to get away from the areas with too much light, so we can have the least amount of light pollution as possible for the astronomical observation.
