What to bring:
Travel 10 km from San Pedro de Atacama to a dark-sky area with very low light pollution, perfect for astrotourism. Enjoy a two-part Atacama Astrophotography Tour.
In the first part, the goal isn’t to give you an astronomy class, it’s to help you learn how to use a telescope with your own hands. For about 1 hour at the telescope station, the guide uses a laser to point out and locate objects in the sky, and you’ll choose what you want to observe as you explore the night sky in real time. Along the way, you’ll get a clear and entertaining introduction to stellar evolution: why stars are born and what their life cycle is like. Everything is designed to be a hands-on, dynamic, and close-up experience focused on observing and enjoying the sky.
Second, join a photo session with the star-filled sky, and when conditions allow, the Milky Way as your backdrop. Leave with professional images from the Atacama Desert.
If you want comfort, a breathtaking night sky, transport included, and photos to remember it, this tour is for you.
Important notes
You can choose between the following options:
Group tour
Private tour
Both tours include astronomical observation with a telescope and the possibility of getting photographs. However, the Astronomical Tour is conducted in an astrolunar format, focused on observing the night sky and the moon (if visible), in a shorter and more accessible experience. On the other hand, the Astrophotography Tour is oriented toward deep-sky observation and includes a more complete night photography experience, with greater dedication to capturing images under the stars.
On this experience, the maximum is 3 photos per person. If two people are joining (a couple, friends, etc.), that’s up to 6 photos total between both of you. How you split them is totally up to you: you can do all 6 together, 3 and 3 separately, 6 for one person and 0 for the other… any combination is fine, as long as no one exceeds 3 photos.
