We’ll travel to Conceição de Jacareí on the Costa Verde, where you’ll board a boat heading to Ilha Grande. It’s the perfect day to enjoy beaches, crystal-clear water, and a tropical vibe just a short trip from Rio.
Your first stop is Cataguás Island, known for its calm waters, great for swimming and relaxing. Next, you’ll head to the Blue Lagoon (Lagoa Azul), one of Ilha Grande’s highlights, famous for clear water and marine life. It’s common to spot colorful fish, corals, and even starfish on the seabed.
Then you’ll visit Santana Parish (Freguesia de Santana), a small beach with lots of history, home to the first church built in Angra dos Reis in 1843. To wrap up, you’ll stop at Japariz Beach (Praia do Japariz) for lunch at a local restaurant and free time to swim before heading back to Rio de Janeiro.
Important notes
Yes, especially in Lagoa Azul, where the crystal-clear water allows you to see fish and starfish. Snorkeling equipment is not included but can be rented.
Yes, the tour is family-friendly and suitable for children. However, constant supervision is recommended during water activities.
At most stops, swimming is possible, such as Ilha de Cataguases, Lagoa Azul, and Praia Japariz. Freguesia de Santana is more focused on cultural visits.
Yes, the boat is equipped with safety life jackets, as required by local maritime regulations. However, these life jackets are designed exclusively for emergency situations during navigation and cannot be used for swimming or snorkeling. If you plan to do these activities, we recommend bringing your own flotation gear or asking the guide about available options on site (around R$ 60 per person).
Out of the 14 hours the full tour lasts, you will spend 4 hours at the site, since the remaining time is for passenger pick-up in Rio de Janeiro (approximately 2 hours) and 3 hours of travel per leg.
