Depending on the day’s schedule, you may also visit Porvenir, explore its highlights, and enjoy lunch (not included). Possible tour routes

The crossing to and from the island of Tierra del Fuego may be made through Tres Puentes or Punta Delgada, depending on weather conditions, ferry availability, and the time assigned for the park visit. For this reason, the route cannot be chosen by the passenger and will be determined by the operations team the day before the tour. It may also be modified at any time, even during the tour, according to operational conditions.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • The tour is made from September to May.

  • You can see the penguins from the tracks of the park, to a 50 meters (164 ft.) distance, approximately.

  • The penguin colony at King Penguin Park is small year-round, with approximately 35 to 90 individuals visible, depending on the time of year.

  • The Magdalena Island Boat Tour is a half-day tour that allows you to disembark on Magdalena Island, where you walk among more than 10,000 Magellanic penguins, a small-sized species that can be seen up close, just 1 to 2 meters away. In contrast, the Tierra del Fuego Full Day is a full-day tour that crosses to Tierra del Fuego Island to visit the King Penguin Park, where you observe, from boardwalks about 50 meters away, a small colony of 30 to 50 king penguins, a larger species that is uncommon in South America. Both tours offer different and complementary experiences, and most travelers choose to do both. If you prefer to do only one, choose Magdalena Island if your priority is to see a large number of penguins up close, or King Penguin if you are looking for a longer tour that combines landscapes, history, and nature.

  • The Primera Angostura crossing is made in vessels with capacity for 250 or 184 people, depending on which one is available at the momento of your trip. The Tres Puentes crossing is made in a vessel with capacity for 360 people.
