To reach the lagoon, we will travel through a route surrounded by ancient araucaria trees, rivers, waterfalls, and winter snow, setting the stage for the beauty ahead. The Icalma Lagoon, an iconic destination in the commune of Lonquimay, takes its name from Mapudungún, meaning “mirror of water” due to the mountains reflected in its calm waters.
You will paddle across its glacial waters, while marveling at the native flora and fauna that make this one of the most spectacular corners of southern Chile.
