What to bring:
We will depart from Punta Arenas to Agua Fresca Bay, where we will collect the necessary equipment before continuing to Carrera Bay, the starting point of the navigation along the Strait of Magellan. During the route you will admire evergreen forests, mountains, and bays such as San Isidro, El Águila, Del Indio, and San Nicolás, until reaching the imposing Cabo Froward.
From there, we will begin a high-intensity 4 km trek up to the Cross of the Seas, located at 340 meters above sea level. The ascent will take about 2 hours, followed by 2 hours of descent, with breathtaking views of the world’s southernmost continental point. You will have time to rest and take photos before returning.
Finally, we will retrace the route back, closing a day filled with adventure, history, and extraordinary Patagonian landscapes.
This trip is done on an open, motorized speedboat. The vessel’s technical capacity is 20–22 passengers plus crew, but for this excursion we usually take fewer guests so you’ll have more space, better weight distribution, and quicker landings. Since it’s open, we recommend bringing a windbreaker or rain jacket, hat, gloves, and sunscreen (yes, even on cloudy days). If conditions get choppy, we’ll adjust speed and seating to keep everyone safe.
