We’ll meet at the scheduled time at Bigfoot Base Camp on the northeast shore of Lake Grey. After a safety briefing, your expert guide will outline the route and timing. You’ll be fitted with full kayaking gear: wetsuit, waterproof jacket and boots, gloves, spray skirt, PFD, and life jacket.

Fully equipped, you’ll paddle among massive floating icebergs toward the eastern arm of Grey Glacier, getting close to its towering ice walls for unforgettable Patagonian views. Weather permitting, you’ll pass Nunatak Island before returning to base for a snack and a hot drink.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • No. The activities on Grey Glacier are only available for passengers who are doing a trekking circuit inside Torres del Paine National Park and have at least one night of accommodation at Grey Campsite or Refugio Grey, since the meeting point (Bigfoot Base Camp) is located within the circuit. We do not offer or recommend arriving via the Grey Glacier Navigation, as it may be suspended due to weather conditions. If the return trip is suspended, you won’t be able to leave the park that same day and you could be stranded inside the area.

  • This activity is carried out in a double kayak. On the day of the tour, you'll share the kayak with another passenger or with the guide if the total number of passengers is uneven.

  • To book Grey Glacier Kayak, you must choose the date and follow the steps on the website. You can add more tours to your cart before confirming your booking.
  • We accept bookings up to 2 days in advance, subject to availability. Therefore, we recommend booking as early as possible to secure your spot.
  • A minimum of 4 people is required to confirm the service. If this number is not met, we will offer you the closest available dates or a full refund. The earlier you book, the more time we have to add passengers and confirm the departure.
