You will begin at Ahu Akivi, a unique sacred site with seven identical moai aligned with the rising sun, considered a celestial observatory since the 16th century. Next, you will visit Puna Pau, the red scoria quarry where the pukao (topknots) were carved, and enjoy panoramic views over Hanga Roa.

You will continue to Ana Te Pahu cave, on the slopes of Maunga Terevaka, the largest on the island and an impressive volcanic tube. Here, you will find archaeological remains that reveal how it once served as housing and refuge for the ancient Rapa Nui people.

We will return at the end of the tour having explored megalithic sites that demonstrate how astronomy and Polynesian worldview guided the placement of moai and their platforms, unveiling the deep connection between the Rapa Nui culture, nature, and the cosmos.
