Description

As you sail, you will admire views of the Ahu Tahai area and the sea caves near Mataveri, which are only visible from the water. The journey continues toward the sacred islets: Motu Nui, Motu Iti, and Motu Kao Kao, once the setting of the Tangata Manu (birdman) competition. From here, you will also see the Ana Kai Tangata cave and the dramatic cliffs of Rano Kau Volcano.

At Motu Nui, you will have the chance to go snorkeling, discovering marine flora and fauna in one of the world’s clearest and warmest seas, with visibility reaching up to 60 meters on clear days.

We will return after experiencing the magic of Rapa Nui from the sea, combining culture, landscapes, and adventure.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • The navigation is carried out in basic boats with outboard motors, which are the most commonly used vessels by local operators to travel between the small islets near the island. These are small and functional boats, ideal for short trips along the coast and for easily accessing the motu, the small islets that surround the main island. This type of navigation allows you to get closer to the natural environment and enjoy the marine landscape in a more authentic way.

  • The entrance fee for Rapa Nui National Park must necessarily be bought not later than the day before the excursion, in https://www.rapanuinationalpark.com/. At the moment of the pickup, the guide will ask for the entrance fees to all passengers, including children and adults over the age of 60. If one of them does not have the tickets, he or she will not be able to make the tour and there will be no refund.
