We will begin at the Ceremonial Village of Orongo, located on the summit of Rano Kau Volcano. This ancient site hosted the Tangata Manu (birdman) ceremony, the island’s most important ritual of the second period, which ended about 150 years ago with the arrival of Christian missionaries.

From here, you will enjoy breathtaking views of the Rano Kau crater and Motu Nui islet, the sacred stage of the competition. Afterwards, we will visit Vinapú, a ceremonial complex built around the year 1200, notable for its ahu platforms with remarkable similarities to Inca architecture.

We will return to your accommodation in Hanga Roa after exploring the living history and archaeology of Rapa Nui.

*The ceremonial site Orongo is closed until further notice, so the visit to Orongo will be replaced with other points of interest.
