We will gather at the meeting point to begin this Tour around the Colonial City of Santo Domingo, a true historical experience that will help you to understand the history of the “new world.” You will pass in front of the Museum of the Royal Houses and then go to the National Pantheon and the Plaza España, where the Alcázar de Colón is located, a gift from King Ferdinand the Catholic for the first-born of Christopher Columbus. Then you will go to Damas Street. Here you can find the house of Rodrigo Bastidas, founder of the city of Santa Marta located in what is now Colombia. You will see other colonial residences before reaching the Cathedral of Santo Domingo (Catedral Primada de las Américas), built in the 16th century, with its limestone façade. Then you will move to the Ozama Fortress, the first and oldest fortress built by Europeans on American territory. You will also pass by Duarte Park and the Dominican Church, before making a short visit to the Larimar Museum. After this, you will finish the tour and you can continue exploring Santo Domingo on your own.
