We will meet at the Arch of Constantine in front of the majestic Roman Colosseum to start this Monuments of Rome Free Tour. You will walk along the Via dei Fori Imperiali, perhaps the most important road during the splendor of the Roman Empire. At the end of this road, in Piazza Venezia, you will be in front of the imposing and impressive Altar of the Fatherland, a stone mass covered in marble that will give you the feeling of being on the Olympus of the gods. You will keep walking to the Piazza del Campidoglio, where the Comune di Roma Capitale is located, as well as other important buildings in this square, and the sculpture of the Emperor Marcus Aurelius. Then you will go down to the Forum Boarium where you can see constructions from the time of the Roman Republic. If time permits, you can see the Bocca della Verità up close and even put your hand inside this sculpture. Then you will head towards the shore of the Tiber River, the river where Tiber Island is located. On this island the temple dedicated to Aesculapius, God of medicine, was located. Here sick pilgrims were welcomed, and now there is a hospital where most Romans are born today. You will pass through the Jewish Quarter of Rome to see the Porticus Octaviae, finally the tour will end with a great explanation of the Pantheon of Rome.
