What to bring:
We will begin with a visit to the Martín Gusinde Anthropological Museum, dedicated to the German anthropologist who studied the Yaghan people, documenting their traditional way of life.
Next, you will explore Villa Ukika, home to the largest Yaghan community today, where residents dedicate themselves mainly to fishing and handicrafts. The tour continues to the Omora Ethnobotanical Park, located 5 km from Puerto Williams, an open-air classroom that preserves the region’s botanical richness with a focus on Yaghan culture.
Finally, we will head to Caleta Mejillones, the last indigenous settlement in the region, where you will find a cemetery that holds the memory of its original inhabitants.
We will end the tour by returning to the meeting point, after a journey through the most representative landmarks of Puerto Williams and its unique cultural heritage.
