Tigre Falls is a 60-hectare area of primarily primary forest located approximately 25 minutes from the hotels in Monteverde. Here, you will have the chance to observe wildlife such as monkeys, snakes, zoids, a variety of insects and birds, among others.
The site offers two trails and four beautiful waterfalls ranging in height from 15 to 30 meters. The hike takes approximately three hours and covers 5 km along natural stone paths, with a medium to high intensity in some places.
Weather permitting, you will be able to observe volcanoes such as Arenal, Rincón de la Vieja, Tenorio, and Miravalles from a wonderful viewpoint, as well as some areas of the province of Guanacaste and Lake Arenal.
To conclude the tour, you can choose to return on a 35-minute horseback ride of intermediate to advanced difficulty, take a 4x4 safari-style vehicle for a 20-minute ride, or hike back along a trail of approximately 3 km.
