This area is considered the largest private reserve in Costa Rica and is part of the UNESCO Water and Peace Biosphere Reserve. Its mission is to maintain, preserve, and rehabilitate local ecosystems and their biodiversity through environmental education, reforestation, research, protection, sustainable development, and ecotourism.
