We will pick you up at your hotel to start this tour. The Iquitos Full Day Tour will start with a tour through the city. The founding date of Iquitos is not precisely known. However, what we do know for a fact, is that it experienced its highest peak during the rubber boom in the region at the end of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th. We will explore the main tourist and historical attractions and then go to Nauta. We will visit the ACOBIA Center along the way, a place where a group of biologists rescues and helps manatees so they can be conserved. We will also visit the Quistococha national zoo, where we will see animals from the Amazon jungle, and we will also get to enjoy the place’s artificial beach.
Afterwards, we will have lunch and then continue on our adventure by heading to the Bellavista Nanay port. Here, we will board a boat to sail to Padre Cocha, where we will find a butterfly farm called Pilpintuwasi. There are 42 butterfly species here, and we will be able to recognize some of them. Then, we will visit the Los Boras community, where they will teach us about their customs and folklore. We will also have time to visit an animal sanctuary to get up close to various species, such as the anaconda, sloth, and different types of monkeys. Then, we will board the boat to start the return trip back to the city of Iquitos to end our activity.
