Begin this unforgettable adventure early in the morning when we pick you up from your hotel in Coyhaique and head south along the Carretera Austral. The 233 km route takes you through breathtaking scenery, including the Portezuelo Ibáñez and the Cuesta del Diablo viewpoint, with stunning views of Cerro Castillo.
Arriving at Puerto Río Tranquilo, on the shores of Lake General Carrera (the second-largest lake in South America), you will board a boat for a one-hour navigation. During the trip, you will marvel at the impressive rock formations carved by water over thousands of years, visiting the famous Marble Caves, the Marble Cathedral, and the Marble Caverns. These iconic landmarks are among the most photographed natural wonders in Chile.
After the navigation, enjoy lunch in the area before returning to Coyhaique, closing a day filled with stunning landscapes and one of Patagonia’s most unique experiences.
*In case that during the tour the Marble Chapels boat ride is suspended because of weather conditions, if available, we will take another route which will replace the visit to Puerto Rio Tranquilo for an alternative boat ride from Puerto Sanchez without additional cost. If none of the 2 rides are available, we will refund only the cost of the navigation.
*Times and itinerary of this activity could be modified due to weather and road conditions. Patagonian Andes have unpredictable conditions, so we recommend you consider this information to buy tickets and organize your itinerary.
We navigate in open boats with capacity for 24 passengers, equipped with individual seats for greater comfort and safety. Each traveler is provided with a life jacket and a rain poncho on rainy days.
The boats are open for a reason: it’s essential to enter the marble caves and caverns, giving you a close-up experience of this natural monument.
