We will gather at our meeting point to go to the Chicaque Natural Park, a protected space, located in the south-west of the Bogotá savannah, which has a rich and countless ecological and water reserves. Upon arrival, you will be able to enter the park and you will get a general explanation of the 10 miles of hiking trails, ranging from easy to more challenging, through the mountains. Once inside you will have impressive views of the Andean mountains and the foggy forest of the park that is the home of more than 300 species of birds, such as the Andean condor and the toucan. The spectacled bear and the puma also live inside this park, and you can also find a wide variety of plants, such as orchids. In addition to hiking and nature watching, the park offers other activities such as horseback riding, bird watching tours, and camping.
