Start: Day 1 at your accommodation in Cerro Castillo.

End: Day 4 in downtown Cerro Castillo.

Day 1: Las Horquetas – Río Turbio Campsite (17 km / 10.6 mi, 5 to 7 hours).

You'll begin the Las Horquetas Circuit along a trail that follows an old logging road, crossing five rivers and gradually climbing the valley until the full Cerro Castillo massif comes into view at the end of the day. You can also choose an optional hike to El Turbio Lagoon for additional views within the national park.

Day 2: Río Turbio – El Peñón Pass – Témpanos Lagoon (10 km / 6.2 mi, 6 to 8 hours).

You'll start early for the most demanding day of the circuit. The climb to El Peñón Pass (1,300 m / 4,265 ft) is the highest and most technical section of the trek, featuring a sustained ascent over loose scree and often windy ridge conditions. The descent requires careful footing, but the reward is a spectacular view of the hanging glacier above the emerald waters of Témpanos Lagoon.

Day 3: El Bosque – Cerro Castillo Lagoon – Morro Negro – New Zealand Campsite (9 km / 5.6 mi, 6 to 7 hours).

You'll set out early, hiking along the turquoise lagoon at the base of the Cerro Castillo massif. From there, you'll climb to Morro Negro, one of the highest points on the circuit, with panoramic views of glaciers and surrounding valleys. This area offers a real chance to spot huemuls, Chile's endangered native deer. If you'd like to extend the hike, you can take an optional excursion to Duff Lagoon.

Day 4: New Zealand Campsite – Villa Cerro Castillo (18 km / 11.2 mi, 5 to 6 hours).

After breakfast, you'll begin your descent through a mature lenga forest filled with wild orchids and seasonal wild strawberries, creating a memorable connection with Patagonia's wilderness. The final 6 km (3.7 mi) follow a gravel road to the trailhead, where you'll board the vehicle back to Villa Cerro Castillo, marking the end of the adventure.
