Join us on the Punucapa Excursion from Valdivia, cruising to the Carlos Andwanter Nature Sanctuary to uncover Huilliche heritage, local orchards, and artisanal flavors.
You will enjoy a 45-minute ride along the Cruces River, exploring the wetland created by the 1960 Valdivia earthquake. You will spot unique aquatic flora and fauna and learn how this landscape was transformed.
Then you will arrive in Punucapa, 10 km north of Valdivia. You will see the nearly 300-year-old Macrocarpa Cypress, walk through traditional orchards—a key supplier of fruit and produce to the city—and taste Cuello Negro beer. Later, you will visit the area’s oldest church and finish with a cider tasting.
We will return to Valdivia carrying the spirit of Huilliche culture and the Cruces River.
