We will depart from Puerto Montt and head to Llanquihue, a city known for its traditional sausage factories and as the origin of the Maullín River. From there, we will follow the Lakeside Road to Frutillar, where you will learn about the history of German settlers who turned this area into a key port. You will admire old mansions with the majestic volcanoes as a backdrop. Optionally, you may visit the German Colonial Museum (entrance not included) for a deeper insight into the culture and traditions of the time.
Later, we will walk along the lakefront promenade of Lake Llanquihue, home to the impressive Teatro del Lago, a cultural landmark in southern Chile. To finish, we will reach Puerto Octay, the region’s first agricultural port, where you will stroll through its main square and traditional streets, learning more about the German influence on the area’s development.
We will conclude the excursion returning to Puerto Montt, carrying with us unforgettable memories of landscapes, history, and culture from Chile’s south.
*The German Colonial Museum is closed on Mondays from March to December.
*If your accommodation is an Airbnb, we will have to set a meeting point to begin the tour, because the pickup is not made in this kind of places.
*The end time of the tours may be extended up to 2 hours on long weekends, holidays and dates with a lot of passengers.
