You will begin this Chacahua Lagoons National Park tour by heading to Manialtepec Lagoon, a coastal lagoon 18 km west of Puerto Escondido. Its name comes from the Nahuatl "manial" and "tepec," meaning "water that rises from the hill." Here you can admire its beautiful panoramic view. You will then continue the tour to the Cacalote ranch, home to a family of love trees, some of which are more than a century old. You will continue to Zapotalito, a small fishing village, where you will board a boat to the “barra de Cerro Hermoso", a natural opening that forms at the entrance of a lagoon or estuary to the sea, preventing water from passing between the two. Here you will have time to take photographs. You will continue your journey through the Culebras, El Cura, Nana, Jacinta, and Piñuelas Islands, where you can admire the birds nesting in the dense vegetation. Finally, you will arrive at the picturesque town of Chacahua, where you can visit the experimental crocodile field and enjoy the beach. Finally, you will begin your return journey to Puerto Escondido.
