You will begin the Architectural Gems of Istanbul tour with a visit to the Beylerbeyi Palace, built in white marble by Sultan Abdülaziz in the 19th century. Here you will be able to admire its magnificent garden with magnolias. The palace was used as a summer residence for the sultans and as a guest house for foreign dignitaries. Back on the European side, you will continue the tour until you reach the Yerebatan Basilica Cistern, the most important water reservoir in the city from the Byzantine period. In case the cisterns are closed, you can visit the Suleymaniye Mosque instead. After lunch, you will continue to the Eyup Quarter, which is the most revered Muslim shrine in Istanbul and the third pilgrimage site in the Islamic world after Mecca and Jerusalem. The last stop will be the Pierre Loti Café, one of the most famous coffee shops in Istanbul. Located on the top of Eyup Hill, it has privileged views of the Golden Horn.
