What to bring:
You will head to Campeche Island, first departing by land to Praia da Armação, from where you will embark to begin a 40-minute journey to the beautiful Ilha do Campeche. The island has hills covered with Atlantic forest, trails and cave paintings. Its beautiful beaches with fine sand are an excellent place to spend the day and delight yourself with the most turquoise water in the area. Its beach is calm and without waves, perfect for relaxing if you are looking for a moment of disconnection.
Yes, visiting Campeche Island requires authorization, as access is regulated to protect its biodiversity and maintain a limited number of visitors. At Nomades, we take care of securing the authorization so you can enjoy this experience worry-free.
The visit duration is determined by the authorities and is set at 4 hours. This time allows visitors to enjoy the beaches, take guided walks, and appreciate the island’s natural and archaeological richness while respecting conservation rules.
The boat crossing during the tour (not included) is done on a wide fishing boat, designed to be more stable and comfortable at sea (you’ll feel less movement than on a narrow speedboat). Plus, each passenger has a life jacket, and the boat has a roof, perfect for staying protected from the sun during the ride.
Yes. On the island, there’s a kiosk and a restaurant where you can buy food and drinks if you’d rather purchase something there. You can also bring your own food and beverages (and even a beach chair, umbrella, and cooler). Just keep in mind two important rules to protect the island: no glass containers are allowed, and you must take all your trash back with you (nothing can be left on the island).
