Just 30-minute boat ride  from Caleta Tortel, thisA apenas 3 km de Caleta Tortel island has been declared a historical monument. It is part of the fjords and channels linking the Northern and Southern Ice Fields, where early settlers arrived to exploit the cypress wood from Las Guaitecas.


On the island, you will see 33 wooden crosses, remains of the graves of workers from the Baker Exploitation Company in 1906. Historians estimate around 120 people died here, although the reasons remain uncertain, inspiring many theories.


You will walk along wooden pathways through the native forest, hearing stories and legends about this place, while enjoying panoramic views of the surrounding archipelago.
