Created by late 19th century, the tango mixes influences of all the immigrants who arrived at the De la Plata river. African, europeans, indigenous and gaucho rhythms were mixed in order to create this music and dance style.
In this tour, you’ll learn the basics of tango, in a class at the Barolo Palace, a true milestone of Buenos Aires. In this hour lesson, you’ll know its history, artists, and iconic steps, as the classic “corte y quebrada” (cut and crack), in which the dancers stops for a moment to make a figure. This step was even a taboo in upper classes salon by the 1920’s.
