What to bring:
The Recoleta Cemetery is located in the exclusive Recoleta neighborhood, named after the Recollect monks' convent. Hundreds of prominent figures, key figures in Argentine history, are buried within its ancient walls.
During the tour, you will visit numerous imposing mausoleums and vaults, many of which are the work of prominent architects and decorated with marble and sculptures. Ninety of these vaults have been declared National Historic Monuments of Argentina.
You will also be able to learn the stories of some of the personalities who rest there, such as Juan Manuel de Rosas, Domingo Faustino Sarmiento, Bartolomé Mitre, Julio A. Roca, and Eva Duarte, all of whom were linked in one way or another to the development of Argentine history.
A free tour is a guided walking tour for which no fixed price is set in advance. At the end of the tour, the guide expects a tip as a thank you for their time and expertise, but the amount is up to you, depending on what you consider fair. It's a flexible and accessible way to get to know the city with the guidance of an expert.
